Coverage (A&B cover)
Taking out your horse insurance through Insure My Pet provides you with the choice to insure your horse for the cover you require. Providing you with the options of cover that you require so if your horse is just used for hacking or dressage you are not going to be paying for a policy that includes the higher risk usage, such as show jumping, these are known as option A and option B.
Option A will provide horse owners with horse insurance quotes for coverage against dressage, hacking and Gymkhanas. The horse insurance policy will also include pony club’s excluding racing, riding club, BHSLe Trec, non thoroughbred broodmares and stallions at stud. Unaffiliated novice and intermediate show jumping is also included.
Within our Option A insurance for horses, you will also be provided with cover against novice hunter trials, driving (excluding cross country and trials), showing in hand or under saddle and cover for foals over 30 days old. Insure My Pet will also include heavy horses, although working horses will be excluded under this coverage.
If you are looking for a horse insurance policy to cover more active horses, you will need Option B, which includes the coverage under option A, but also hunting, pony club racing and unaffiliated show jumping. Show jumping under BSJA rules are also included within option B horse insurance, as well as open hunter trials and BE affiliated eventing.
You will also need option B for your insurance for horses if you carry out combined training, long distance riding and vaulting. If you are driving, including cross country and trials you will be covered, as well as working heavy horses.
